What's the word?????

John Tiller's Battleground Series is a Hall of Fame lineup of games covering the Civil War and Napoleonic Wars. We've compiled these classic games into two new affordable collections, incorporating updated versions of these legendary titles. Incredible historical gameplay and great value!

Why do you continue to hang around a place when you're obviously so offended by every aspect of it, E5?

Because I have this stupid idea that maybe someday Matrix will realize it isn't a good idea to treat their customers like garbage in situations like this.

Christ.  It's a small company.  If they're guilty of anything it is taking on too many projects at once - but any lack of information isn't due to lack of caring but lack of time.  You have to take that bad with the good - games that no one else will publish.

How long does it take to make a post here?  Im following this but not as closely as some.  But if I recall they at one time said the game would be release by the end of July.  Then there were delays with the manual and it would be later.  Its now August 21st and no news.  If they thought the manual was going to be ready by the end of July, why would it take another 3 weeks to finnish.  Be unfront and honest, make realistic forcasts, if the game isnt ready dont give people some excuses like the manual isnt ready, just say the game isnt ready and it might not be until September before it is.  Large or small company it doesnt make a difference.  Someone from Matrix could at least make an effort to make weekly posts on the forum to let eveyone know what is going on.

Hi Guys

Its a very busy time of year for us with all the conventions.  GenCon just ended and we are off to New Orleans for The Heat of the Battle Convention next.  If we were all here at the same time I could keep everyone up to date a little better.  Once you see the new box covers up in the game section you will know we are very close.  I do my best to keep everyone up to date but things do slip and for that I am sorry but the only other way to handle it is to say anything until its done.

Now I am planning to have this out before the end of the month at this point.

Well after finding out the reissue is not going to address the poor AI (the worst thing about the whole series)
perhaps those of us who own the original games should start a email write in to www.matrixgames.com.  If they got several hundred emails say in the next couple of weeks.......well I guess its not going to happen but it is nice to think about. :-)

as for E5 maybe a long walk or a cold shower would help you out.  Did you ever think that the extra time is an effort to get the reissue right in spite of not at least trying to fix the AI?

save your breath Yankee some people just don't get it. This company has brought back many games that might not have ever made it back like the Battleground series. They also manage to publish some great games that were created by some smaller companies that also might never had made it either.

but with guys like E5 you will never get them to see the light so to speak. All they ever do is complain and no matter what a company does it just is not good enough. So maybe he will go away if we just ignore him.

I am on your side. The games from Matrix are the best. Development time is something that can not be called that close most of the time. You care about the games you sell and work hard to make them better. My ONLY real concern with the battleground series was the really bad AI. I will take your word that it could not be improved but it is a shame because the series is really nice but I have very few people I can play against in person and can not devote enough computer time for an email game. All the games in the series work fine on my XP Pro systems but buying the new version might at least let me run them on Vista at some point in the future. Just keep up the good work and ignore the nay sayers.

Not sure why you don't have enough time for PBEM. By definition, PBEM is play at your own speed. I would say that 2-3 turns (phases) per week should be plenty. If you don't have enough time for that, then you don't have enough time for gaming in general.
