Strategic Planning

Post by Yoozername »

I would like to see a game where the commander has a initial 'plan' phase where he can actually draw lines of attack/defense.

These lines would then play into how long it takes units to respond to orders along those lines, and how they react to combat conditions. As an example, giving movement orders in the direction of these attack lines results in faster response times.

I would also like to see units designated as reserve forces that can be activated to some degree. Something like an enemy crossing a defense line, or losing/gaining a flag triggers them.

I would also like these attack/defense lines to be edited during play to some degree.  An abstraction of better C&C and leadership being modeled.

So if a flag is taken, the initial plan lines can be then modified (to a degree).  Much like large way-points.  Rigid poor leadership could not modify them.
