Now you see them..nowya don't

AGEOD’S American Civil War - The Blue and the Gray is a historical operational strategy game with a simultaneous turn-based engine (WEGO system) that places players at the head of the USA or CSA during the American Civil War (1861-1865).

OK...Butler is next to Richmond in Dec 62 with his troops. I order him to attack Richmond. I wanted to rerun the turn as I had saved it just before I ordered the movement of units. When I went to load the save game it showed the END of the turn I just played rather than the place where I had just saved it. So does ACW auto save at the end of each turn on your current save file? If so can it be turned off? I find the whole structure of the save game to be a bit strange.

the other reason I wanted to restart was that it showed Butler in Richmond with NO TROOPS! There was no battle report,. no messages of any sort to explain why he was there and his troops were not. This is not the first time troops have gone astray. I have the 1.06 version so if any person can explain:
A. if the game auto saves at the end of a turn (can it be turned off)
B. Where the Heck my troops went
If your not part of the solution

(a) to reclaim the previous turn (before your processed it), you have to go to the load screen and hit <home> (check the tooltip.

(b) check the ledger, forces listing and see if you find your brigades. If a unit disapears, this is because of combat or weather in 99% of the cases. Every games has bugs, but so far AACW never had one where troops vanished (and BOA never had this one too, so this code part is rather stable I would say!)

I thought later (like the next day) as i do not think well ant 2:00 AM :-) that this was indeed what happened. I would almost swear to you that I looked on the brigade list but as i said it was late and my mind was not working good. ya see what you have made here :-) I could play this thing forever) but I thought I looked but maybe not.
Thanks for the save game info even though I should have figured it out. Some time I can't see the forest for the trees. I would have liked to be able to just create several save games and rotate from one to the next. I have got used to this games save method so this is no big thing.
