Has anybody faced the US army? I had a game go until 1919 (the US entered in 1917) and saw only one cavalry unit, and it never saw any action. This was against the AI. What are other people's experiences with the US?

The US starts with only one cavalry unit - because their first infantry corps requires the accumulation of 40 arms, it takes several turns to save up the arms, build the unit, then deploy it to France, so even if the player is concentrating on building US infantry, it won't get to the front before early 1918 at the earliest.  I wonder if the AI just gives up and buys naval assets or transfers the industrial points to Britain... in my last game, however, the 4 US infantry corps I did build performed admirably in combat, although they showed a disturbing tendency to refuse strategic move orders...

The US corps are very strong, which makes them pretty damn useful.  As has been mentioned before the first US infantry corps has strength 40!  Making it even more kickass than the Canadian Corps.

On the other hand chances are they won't be in combat until 1918, by which time I figure the war will be decided one way or another already...
