Smolensk Sector

schreck V Harry
Smolensk Sector operation

Knowing the Ruskies will lead with a tonne of heavy metal I positioned my thread bare teams to act as a brake on the Russian advance.

My one ace was a TigerI positioned to the south with a long LOS to the bridge and village esdge.

I expected to lose my forward teams, but hoped they would be able to delay the russians while the Timer ran down (set at 20min)

The starting barrage wiped out my Flak gun and one of his light Tanks.... looking good from my point of view.

Sure enough... an SU122 and a KV supported the infantry assault to my mens loss.

After he'd rolled up all the opposition east of the river the Russian commander started to look longingly at the river crossing.

wham Bam... The Tiger strikes!

Image

But not for long ...The Russian Heavy metal rolls forward and the combined weight of three soviet monsters put paid to the Tiger.

With 2 min to go I try and scare him off with smoke rounds and 7.62mm mg lead.

Good one :)
Is this the same map as the first one on the Icron cross GP?
Chess is the ultimate strategy game, unfortunately you lack the random chance to blame.
