Submarines not firing

My submarines never seem to fire when ordered. Doesn't matter what scenario. Standard database. Within range, select their target, weapon allocation screen comes up, I allocate, say 'OK'.... then nothing happens. I do this many times... Usually the other guy kills me then. I hate this.

Any help???

If its the standard database its most likely a straight database issue. The original database is somewhat long in the tooth and it tends to show.
I'd recommend trying a more up to date database. There are now a number of 3.8 compliant databases available that work better with ANW. Try those on Harpoon HQ or ANW DB, I am not presently aware of any others that are available.
