Sound Issues

I am having issues with not having any sound when I start up the game and wondered if there was a way to correct this....I have the game and am patched to version 5.02....I am running at the required tech specs....and exceed them in most respects

any help sorting out why I cant hear the game would be great...

I am currently running on a Soyo KT880 board with an Athalon 3000xp + processor and 256 meg TNT 9550 256 meg video, 1 gig of ram and the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 soundcard.....hope this helps

ok I have solved the LACK of sound problem now I need to fix the sound problem where everything kinda starts to play and stutters and restarts and its very annoying
