Naval Units?

Can you describe the different types of naval units and capablities?

Roughly speaking you got:

The cargoship for transporting land troops over water,
The destroyer for killing submarines
The submarine for stealth and killing capitol ships and cargoships
The cruiser for anti-air
The battleship for general naval supriority and shore bombardments
The aircraftcarrier for well carrying aircraft over water and as a mobile base to launch airstrikes from

i guess that would be the submarines. But historicaly no surface ship was able to stand up to a CV.
So it makes sense if there isnt any. But on the other hand i guess if a BB got in range of a CV the CV would be toast. But then the CV would have to have rather poor CAP's

Well it depends a bit on of the CV is loaded, and what sort of aircraft are on it, but it would be best to use cruisers to counter CVs. Cruisers in AT have excellent AA capabilities compared to their cost
