Stuck in Iraq

Post by jwood314 »

Wow, Frank, you have put together an amazingly excellent WWI game. This game captures the feel and pace of how I envision operations both tactically and strategically went during this period. You have brought much entertainment to my world out here in the desert. Off to my questions.

1) I can not download the patch. I am sitting behind a very tough filter, and I can not find a way to get this. Anyone have any suggestions on how I might download this? Can anyone host it, and I download from them? Took me long enough to be able to download the actual game.

2) I can’t figure out how to train assault troops once I get the tech. Does the Corp need to be in home country, am I missing something?

I am still playing version 1.0, so some of this may have been addressed.

3) How many different “plans” does the AI have for the CP. The AI seems to be better at playing the TE. The latest game I played as the TE, the CP did not even declare war on Luxemburg or Belgium. This could be a valid East first strategy, less to defend on the West, but the TE can get very strong when left alone.

4) The AI has a hard time defending against a stacked attack on AH with Russia.

5) Does the AI have unlimited rail capacity?

Again, this is a great game, well worth the small fee to play. I am looking for some PBEM opponents, I look forward to a new challenge.

Cheers,
James

1) Hopefully someone from Matrix can answer that.
2) I can’t figure out how to train assault troops once I get the tech. Does the Corp need to be in home country, am I missing something?
Not sure, the list of qualifiers is : It has to be in supply, it has to be German, French, British or American, has to be infantry, Readiness has to be > 1 and you have to have enough arms points in your national pool equivalent to the strength of the corps.

In v1.2 the corps also gets removed for one turn for "assault triaining".
3) How many different “plans” does the AI have for the CP. The AI seems to be better at playing the TE. The latest game I played as the TE, the CP did not even declare war on Luxemburg or Belgium. Overall plans, 3.  But the situation of the moment takes precedence.  And yes, the AI plays a much better game as the TE.
5) Does the AI have unlimited rail capacity?

No, it has the same rail points as a human.  However, there was mention of strat movement taking place on turn 1 which I'll be looking into.
