Game Name "tactics"

Advanced Tactics is a versatile turn-based strategy system that gives gamers the chance to wage almost any battle in any time period. The initial release focuses on World War II and includes a number of historical scenarios as well as a full editor! This forum supports both the original Advanced Tactics and the new and improved Advanced Tactics: Gold Edition.

Is not the scale of the game beyond that of tactical? I know Im picky - just asking.

Actually all scenarios shipped with AT are operational or strategic scale. So yes you are completly right in stating the scale of the game is beyond military tactical scale.

Advanced Operational and Advanced Strategic just doesn't have the same ring.....[;)]

Well... and the previous version was called The People's Tactics. Brand loyalty and recognition, you know! [;)]

I always liked the name People's Tactics. Made me think, "Comrade, we need to invade the capitalist aggressors."

Yeah I know about brand loyalty and all. It's more "Grand Tactics" to coin an older term. But the game could be called Mud Puppies as long as it is good.
