Projected Cost of MWiF
This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill game. Will it's apparent complexity warrant a higher price?
Any ideas on the cost yet?
Sorry if this has been covered before.

And while we're at it, could someone please tell us what the Social Security COLA will be for 2009?
That is to say... I like fishing as much as the next guy but I think this question is a wee bit premature. [;)]

Patrice has made this advert obsolete. There are now 252 'countries'. I am going with 250+ in stuff I now write for marketing.

Not that long ago I would have looked at those numbers and cried out "curses, that's $120!".

I hope that you won't make it obsolete by decreasing the number of hexes, with your cursed map trimming idea [:D]ORIGINAL: Shannon V. OKeets

That's coming up soon. Once Rob sends me the revised bitmaps for the last few hexes, I'll compress all the bitmaps and reassess MWIF's demand for bitmap resources. That has been causing the problem Peter (a beta tester) has been having if I am not mistaken.ORIGINAL: Froonp

Can't afford the helium, and hydrogen is too dangerous. We thought about using hot air but there isn't enough about politics in the game to sustain that.ORIGINAL: Neilster

COMPLEXITY: MODERATE TO ADVANCED
Seriously? Moderate? Compared to WHAT exactly?
How about:

I don't know, it seems pretty straightforward when compared to, say, architecture. [:)]

War in the Pacific. Even three years after release, the players are still trying to figure out the finer points within the game engine.

I don't know. I've played both and I'd say its a push. The thing is, most people on this forum have the board game version of MWiF and have played for years and are therefore familiar with all the rules. For someone coming in fresh, like everyone did with WITP, its a pretty steep learning curve.
To me Moderate implies that its in the middle of the pack or something. Compared to competing WWII grand strategy games like Commander EAW, GGWAW, SC2, HOI 2, and that History Channel game, I'd say its right there at the top of the list.
Outside of WITP the only thing that even comes close to this is HOI 2 (in terms of complexity).

Yeah, we're really struggling. [8|]
4% unemployment. More homeowners than any time in history. The average home has 4 bedrooms and 2 or more new cars. 4 TV's with 200 channels and 3 computers with 6 mBit internet. Throw in an XBox 360 or PS3 in case we get bored. A cell phone for every kid. We all have central air and heating. We have the most powerful military and largest economy in the world. And its growing at a rate that is only challenged by the emerging industrial countries. Certainly not Western Europe or Canada!
And when Canadians get tired of waiting in line for an operation that would save their life from 'free' (paid by taxes instead of premiums) medical care they come down here to freeload off of our system.
And we all make enough money that the cost of a new video game is pretty much meaningless. [:D]
How do we get by?
