more scenarios

Post by oho_slith »

It's a really great game.
Some question from a newbie:
I'm looking for a scenario with flatter terain, where the tanks can move better. Is there something like that out there or in the pipeline?
Which scenario is the most even in odds. The tutorial is really great, but it seems the scenarios are mostly rushing germans on narrow valleys or airborne troops without heavy armour and with few artillery suport.
Can I use HTTR scenarios for that somehow or even edit those scenarios?
What are the plans as addons?
Thanks for any rely.

I have been toying around with a "Beda Fomm" scenario, Italy vs Britts in North Africa. Its offers large open spaces and will hopefully add a complete different gameplay than what the usual mountainous scenarios offers. I will hopefully have time between work to get it sorted in a week when the patch comes out. The patch will add some new tanks and armoured cars that is necessary to get the orbat and balance right.

There is a Western Desert scenario coming out with Patch #3 covering the attack on Bir el Gubi during the crusader battles. Lots of armour in open terrain to maneuver, and the map can be used as a template for other scenario designers to do some pre-1942 desert battles. The Bir el Gubi battle took place during the rainy period and there is some hammada terrain that may slow things down a bit, but it is still a very fluid and open scenario.

The Platamon battle scenarios offer some good mobile battles too IMO.

My favorite against the AI is 'Charge of the Centaurs' it's got loads of artillery and plenty of armour and is fairly challenging and not an easy win.

Some have tried with varying degrees of success - search the forum for these attempts. You will need to copy the HTTR estabs over to the appropriate CotA folder and hope for the best.

"Battles from the Bulge" is next on the plate and you can check out the forum for progress there. What's after that is up to Panther Games management (Arjuna)
