Europe 1939 turn 16

Turn 16, December 1940.

I dropped another 6 corps into northern England. I hope to isolate Manchester from the north. Also, the West will have difficulties in supplying the large number of ships in port (I counted all 3 fleets). He can either withdraw them, use most of his political points to buy supply (and not reinforcements) or have his readiness impacted. This is becoming a set piece battle.

Next month, I will get the Axis minors to join the war in my side. I will use the extra production to build a good defensive line in the East. Capturing Britain has taken a while. I am reasonably sure to get it in 1941, but I do not think I will be able to make a serious push on Russia until 1942.

I now have about 500 infantry and a dozen tanks and artillery pieces on the island in about 21 corps. I face a well entrenched foe.

In Greece, my tanks and artillery have arrived. I brush aside a defending unit. I expect to built in Athens in the next month or 2.

Further South, Egypt is a disaster. My remnants retreat back to Libya.

My turn 16: Winter weather started and i saw another wave of german invasion troops
at my english east coast.
I sent my planes to hit them hard as possible, followed by ground attacks.
The result was that i broke off the connection between the southern troops and the northern beach head.

In the Birmingham area i used my artillery to soften up potential attackers.

In Alexandria the germans go back, but they move on Athens which i expect to lose the next turn.

My russian troops are still in the buildup phase. I expect hard fights at the east front in the near future.

So far i´m very pleased with the battle in England.
My new strategy was at least a step forward that´s sure.
