Harpoon3 - Matrix Game serial number validation

Harpoon3 - current version on Windows XP Pro

On several occasions while well into a Harpoon3 game senario the DOS screen goes dark and comes back as the windows desktop with a message: "Attempting matrix game serial number validation. Matrix game serial number validation sucessful". The game crashed and all the status data was lost back to the previous back up.

I have registered the serial number. Is there something more I should do in the way of registration to avoid these crashes?

I'm not aware of anything relating to the serial number that should cause a crash. It's simply checking some settings between files and registry. Have you defragged and done a registry cleaning lately?

Howdy downwind,

Are you running the game in full screen mode?  How often does this occur?

Is the message, that indicates a successful registration check, given in a Harpoon 3 message window or a Microsoft Windows error message?  Or is the message in the console window?

I'll be tracking this.
