I bought it!

Post by Warspite3 »

Well, I was trying to hold out until the weekend for the last two days since I have work in the morning. That changed, figured I would go ahead and get it to download it now, maybe play this weekend but nope I play now. [;)] It won't be the first time I never got enough sleep [:D] Anyway, so far this game has already exceeded my expectations. Played the small tutorial scenario and a few of the training ones. I am finding it very easy to just pick up and play thats for sure, especially if one has already played people's tactics. This all said, I really can't see anyone being disappointed with the game especially fans of the empire series.

Gratz!

Very pleased with it so far here too, at last I've found something on par with TOAW. If the community/updates takes off as it did there the longevity will be guaranteed :)

Agree. The beauty of this game is its ability to mod anything.

I was going to get it, but, bought Galactic Civ II: Dark Avatar instead. ;) (it gots a 93.7% rating @ gamerankings.com) Thas what Erik et all get for taking so long to release a physical copy of these games. The hoopla dies down too fast waiting on them. I tole em they should WAIT until the physical is ready to ship and release everything at once, but, did they listen to me? Noooooooooooo and so they lost a sale. ;) Maybe 2 haha who knows maybe 1000's . ;) But, he already said it probably won't get a kissmas discount, so, it's another year for me anyways unless they do some kinda blitz pricing on it during next year. I ain't worried I know it'll still be there next year when the kissmas season arrives. ;)
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

I feel for you ravenhood. [:D] I've played GC2 and I think you were right to make that your second choice. [;)] I've uninstalled that game, myself, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than I did. Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying your first choice. [8D]

I'll upgrade my purchase when the cd and manual become available, but I'm glad I'm not forced to wait for them.

Ravinhood,

Just cut it out. There's been no decrease in interest, if anything the forum is hopping more than it was when the game was released. We're working as fast as we can to get those physical copies out and we've posted about the unforeseen troubles outside our company that lead to those delays. Hitting us over the head with that and then talking about how you bought something else is just plain rude.

Regards,

Erik

Pika, here's a good definition. I think he/she fits the bill quite nicely!:
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum or group with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response.

From what I have seen in other threads, Ravinhood has posted comments just for the sake of starting an argument or heated discussion. There is no need for it in a forum like this. It's childish and inappropriate behaviour.

Well said Erik, imho.

Warspite3 - Yes, it's great to see the transition from PT to AT and how Vic's ideas have developed. I think most people who played PT have said pretty much the same thing. It's definitely a winner [:D]

Jim

I have Gal Civ II (not DA) and while it's undoubtedly a good game it didn't grip me in anything like the way AT has.

Nearly 2 weeks since buying AT and I still can't think of any other game. I've just finished an epic 80 round random game that took 3 evenings and has been one of the most enjoyable and addictive - one more turn - gaming experiences I can remember.

Ravinhood, yes I love GalCiv2, love that game its great!! I am getting the ToA expansion which should be released soon. I will say though, I was going to pre-order ToA or buy AT last night, I picked AT since I have not came across any game like it which I felt was better then empire series. I don't know, I think AT has that "I just can't resist feel" if you know what I mean. So ravinhood, you know you are buying it, stop trying to fool yourself. [;)] I think if someone (anyone at that) is posting in this forum, you can bet they will buy this game. Sooner or later they will buy it and when they do, there won't be any regrets. Maybe just one regret... darn I should have bought this game alot sooner. [:D] I only waited a few days and even that was too long. See, I missed the past weekend and I could have played it the whole time. Now I have to have sleepless nights until friday playing it when I got work in the morning. As far as physical copies go, I don't know. I used to be a physical copy only guy but with AT I just did not care if it was a cd, box, or download or whatever. I was sold and getting it no matter what. Lately, I find myself buying more downloadable games. Anyway, I just got home from work and I am certainly going to try to get a good game going on before I go to bed tonight, thats if I don't fall asleep first. [:D]

What, you buy games based on some sort of game ranking, huh?

Interesting responses to a mere honest opinion about having to wait so long for a physical release and what game I decided to buy instead. Even out of Erik to call it "RUDE" a bit touchy there aren't yah Erik? Physical year end creeping up on your too fast? ;) The bottom line is I was in the mood to buy a game NOW today this minute, well, not this minute, but, at the time I made that statement. AT wasn't available to me, so, I bought the next game on my kissmas list. And I get this kind of response out of supposedly ADULTS? Well Erik anyways is suppose to be one. ;) I still never said I wasn't buying the game, but, well, I can't buy what is not available to me now can I? ;)

[8|]Your posts have been getting really, really old of late ol' chum. You offer the same dark, brooding, gothic satire regarding every game Matrix releases. This is a damn good game with a HUGE amount of options and a GREAT AI. The way your personality reflects in your posts leads me to believe you have nothing better to do with your money anyways[:'(]...phone been ringing off the hook?...LOL...buy it, you won't be so lonely and you'll probably have a damn good time. A nice change of pace from shi@#ing on peoples parades[;)].

Warspite3, I have to agree with you. Unlike some people, I've never played PT so I was uncertain, but the ideas were cool. After waiting a week that I'll never get back, I finally bought it. Personally, I think Matrix messed up. [:'(] It'll be a little while before I get another game. I just don't have the time! [:D]
