Russian AI Picks

Post by KG Erwin »

Now I see the problem. They have just one selection list from 1939 to 1949. This makes many picks skewed. You guys messed up here. The AI picks these tanks over infantry units. This needs to be fixed.

Suggestion -- copy formation 1014 into formation 1195, and make availability Jan 1942 to Dec 1949.

In formation 1014, there will be units 021, 1013, 1016, 1068. Availability dates Jan 1930 to Dec 41. This may force the AI to buy more infantry.

WTF???

We did not, to the best of my knowledge, make ANY changes to the AI Picklists for the Russian OOB. Those picklists are the same as they have been for years, probably since Ver1.

Suggestion -- do what the f*ck you want to do with YOUR copy of the game...nobody else is b*tching about the way the Russians act.
Maybe you need to learn how to play as any nation OTHER THAN your "vaunted" Marines. And don't blame your bad gameplay on those of us who revamped the OOB data; we aren't responsible for you lack of tactical skill. [:-]

Flashfyre, I set up a Finn vs USSR battle, narrow map, Dececember 39. Russian advance, Finnish delay. Realistically, one would expect an infantry-heavy attack with a few tanks in support. Wrong. I was attacked by a ridiculously-sized horde of armor.

My tactics are faulty, eh? In game terms, a realistic Winter War battle is impossible, because the Russians always pick a tank fleet.

The AI picks ARE screwed up, maybe always have been. I'll adjust them for my own use. That's not your fault. Perhaps ALL nations' AI picks need to be re-evaluated.

The silent majority of players ARE solo players. I get picked on because I choose to speak up. So be it.

Kevin,

While I understand the anger, please keep it a bit more polite, eh?

Glenn,

To my knowledge, you have not been 'picked on'. You jump someone because of something you perceive to be wrong (in this case, you even jumped on the wrong guys), and then scream foul when someone responds. Just an observation.

Since the ENH team has responded, locking this down before it gets heated.
