Can't play campaigns in Age Of Sail

When playing the first scenario for a campaign in age of sail, the screen loads with an error message saying ' Error opening file' with the same message appearing when you close the game. Can anyone shed any light on why this is and why I can't play the campaign? I downloaded the non-us of both John Tillers Civil war and Napolenic Battleground games in the $10 off promotion pack.
