CAW cursor disappears

CAW cursor disappears

Since I haven't had much luck in the specific forum, perhaps someone here would be willing and able to make some suggestions.

The arrow cursor on Carriers at War is very erratic. Sometimes it shows up for a moment, then it's nowhere to be found. This makes it virtually impossible to even start a game, much less save the world for democracy.

I have a Toshiba 1.4 dual core laptop with a gig of memory, tons of hard disk, running Vista. I've tried changing the compatibility to XP2. I've tried changing the appearance of the cursor. But nothing seems to help. If Nimitz had such a problem, we would all be speaking Japanese. Please help!
