Russia '41 Scenario City Production

Post by t7777 »

Are captured Russian cities usable for production? If they ARE supposed to be usable (even at a reduced rate), then I must be doing something else wrong because it isn't allowing production. Thanks in advance!

I haven't played that scenario but it sounds as though the HQ you are trying to supply is outside the supply radius of the city. Click on the city, then click the supply icon. Make sure the HQ you are supplying is within range.

Hope this helps.

As German you can only use your initial 5 cities for production, so everything is as it should be.

thanks! i was afraid that was the case! still - kinda puzzling - why bother having scorched earth as a variant if the cities produce nothing anyway? maybe i'm just missing the point[:)]

I think the only real problem for the Germans caused by scorched earth is an readiness penalty to aircraft you may station in the damaged cities. Not that big a deal really.

Captured Soviet cities increase the German production multiple.  Also, if you select the production advantage variant for either side, the towns also add to the multiple of the select sides production.  However, only the initial cities produce units.

Do units get cheaper to produce or does the number of production points for the cities increase? I.e. should the number of points in e.g. Warsaw raise from 25000 as more and more soviet cities are occupied?

Play game as German and you´ll see the changes for your initial cities when you got Kiev, Riga and Minsk.
The units in the german initial cities are "cheaper" then. That´s the production multiple Tom talked about.
Same effect on russian cities when they get Lend Lease help or start capturing german cities.

Towns and enemy cities never produce for the enemy. With production advantage activated the towns
production value is virtually added to the cities production-> decreased costs there.
Maybe it looks strange to some of you, but it works [;)]

In my current game I now noticed in the production window that Warsaw was at 34000 production points (initially 25000) and 136%. I just hadn't made the connection between the increase in production power and captured Prussian cities...  [:)]
