Which Harpoon for me?

Hello, I've been a long time naval fan, started with when I met the WW2 naval simulation strategy games called Great Naval Battles, now I have for a long time been looking on and off on Harpoon 3 and HCCE, and I'm trying to get a clue of which to buy, the best experience I have with 'modern naval warfare strategy' is from the game called Fleet Command.

Now from what I've understood, H3 is basically the most complex of the two Harpoons, but what I've read in reviews is that it's also awfully buggy.. How is HCCE bug-wise?

Basically, I would like for someone to help me by pointing out the Pro's and Con's of the two versions so I can decide which one to buy!

I'd take advantage of the current offer to buy both, certainly if ANW (as the most expensive) is your first choice.

If you don't want to do that, I'd suggest CE of the two. It's easier to get to grips with and has the better UI. I wouldn't worry too much about bugs in ANW, though. I know a lot of the old hands bang on about them, and even whether its better to stick with an (allegedly) less buggy earlier version, but in my experience as a total Harpoon newb with ANW you could play for weeks without noticing any of them; it's not as if the thing CTDs every 20 minutes.

The exception to that would be if you insist on multiplay, where ANW would be the only option.

Thanks, I'm gonna go for the combo pack, do you know how long it is avaible? I'm a bit tight on money now, won't get my new check until the 20th this month and it'd be annoying if the combo was gone by then!

Welcome aboard (or soon anyway)!  Erik Rutkins said on November 21st that there was not yet a specified end date for the combo deal and that it would be around quite a while.
