PBEM Setup File Size

Post by TheBug67 »

I am playing my first PBEM game and I happened to notice something with the different setup files coming in, their size can vary greatly.

Russia = 3.97mb
Turkey = 456kb
Austria = 483kb
Prussia = 3.97mb
Spain = 371kb
France = 3.96mb
Great Britain = 347kb

The reason I noticed was because I received two of the 4mb files while at work which on top of other emails forced me over my quota.
Why are some files a tiny fraction of the others, is it suppose to be that way? I'm just curious because I think a 4mb transfer file could be a bit excessive especially if you have multiple games going.

Thanks

Great question? Don't think it should be??? I'm looking at my files and I cannot find one over 900K large???
Can anybody else tell me if they have PBEM setup files that are 4 MEG in size?

Thank you

We've only gotten to the setup phase and all the files are under 500K.

In my second PBEM which has currently only got to the Prussian setup has both Russia and Austria at 450-550kb but Turkey comes in at 3.91mb. Is there some kind of compression used for the emails that is missing? Because the 4mb ones seem to zip down real small.
