Hi-Playing Allies v AI, v1.806, scen. 15, late 12/43. Attacking from Naha, Kadena, Iwo & Bonin, target Nagasaki, heavy industry.

1.Can the Japanese repair HI damage? Do they?

2.Do I gain victory points for attacking HI in Hong Kong, etc.?

3. Lets say Nagasaki started off with 600 HI points. I know I get VP for damage to the HI. But, if(when) I get the HI down to zero at Nagasaki, does this count as destruction? If so, do I get 20x600 VP for that destruction? Or what?

4. After some missions, some bases change the city attack from HI to manpower. Is there some way to stop this?

1. Yes - and the AI will probably try to do so if it has supplies, iirc.

2. No - i believe it has to be in home islands

3. If there is NO heavy industry in the city, you have probably destroyed it, but if it says something like (600) 0 then it is all damaged (not destroyed).

4. Not as far as i know.

I note that with HI damage I am scoring strategic loss points. What do they mean, does this add to VP total?

If there is something in the manual re strategic points, please make referernce so I can look it up.

Allied/Jap. strategic losses = victory points. No difference.

The manual, p. 43

Allied/Japanese Strategic Losses – The number of Victory Points scored for
damaging/destroying industry (factories, resource/oil centers, manpower) by aerial bombing (refer
to 16.0 Victory Conditions for more details).
