COG2 features

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

COG2 features

Post by Spechtmeise »

I have recently re-discovered CoG and love playing it. In the forums I have read a lot about an upcoming expansion. How would the expansion be different from the original game? Would somebody kindly sum up the main features? Thanks.

Well, the plan is to incorparate some features from FoF into CoG as well as introducing detailed naval battles. But you will have to wait for more details as the expansion will not be released until summer, probably even later.

The areas we'd like to address are:

1) Adding detailed naval combat
2) Modifying the strategic map
3) Adding historical events
4) Adding a simpler-economy mode
5) Tweaking the AI to give it more historical flavor

There are a handful of little interface improvements I hope we have time to make. There are also a few specific rules I'd like to modify / implement, such as making passage through Switzerland and Lapland much harder to do, and to put harder limits on the overall number of units. I'd also like to add "special abilities" (as we have for the units in FOF) to units if we have time.

There are one or two threads just below this one with more detailed discussions of this.
Michael Jordan plays ball. Charles Manson kills people. I torment eager potential customers by not sharing screenshots of "Brother Against Brother." Everyone has a talent.
