Can no longer load saves

When I start the game, I either get a WGS AI File not Found error (which is actually good) or a normal start.

If I get the error, I can load and save files without any problems.

If I don't get the error, I can not load any save files. They all fail with some access violation at address XYZ trying to access FFFFFF00.

It may be the difference between quick start and the desktop icon. It was late yesterday when I ran into it, and I didn't try out all possibilities.

Try direct clicking the EiANW.EXE file in the main game directory.

I'm back home now, and just got this on my latest game. I'm unable to load any save game from my game, but I can load an autosave from another game (I haven't had a naval combat phase in my current, so no autosaves overriding that one.) I can also start another game. The exact error is:

"Access violation at address 005876F3 in module 'EiANW.exe'. Read of address FFFFFF00."

The address seems to be consistent, and seems to be save game related, and not how I start the game up. My previous guess is incorrect. I'm attaching a sample saved game.

I got this game and fixed this for our 1.02 patch!
