Swedish transports bug?

Swedish transports bug?
In a game as France I gained control of Sweden. Malmo had 5 transports arrive in Oct 1805 (5 Trn, 1805, Oct). Sweden does not have a transport fleet counter so I cannot place them, and I get reminded every reinforcement phase that they are still there. [&:]

RE: Swedish transports bug?
They are FRENCH transports (ie they can be added to the FRENCH transport fleet -IF you can get it there
)

Yea same thing happened to me playing as GB... I got control of Sweden and couldn't figure out at first why the heck there were transports in Sweden when there was no swedish transport fleet.... on a whim I moved the GB Transport fleet there and it let me add them. Glad that was clearly explained in the rules... [8|]

RE: Swedish transports bug?
Who built the transports that showed up in Malmo?
RE: Swedish transports bug?
They just showed up, like scheduled Swedish transports. I didn't build them.

RE: Swedish transports bug?
That's odd??? Sweden should never have built the xports since she has not xport counter??? Is it possible they were captured from another MP?
RE: Swedish transports bug?
No, Russia AI declared war on Sweden in March 1805 and France gained control. It's almost as if Sweden built those transports during the March economic phase and then they showed up 6 months later in October. I didn't noticed it until that reinforcement phase in October. I didn't have any naval battles in the area to warrant a capture.

Is it possible that the french AI player built them in sweden? This seems like the most logical explaination.
I havent fully grasped the capture mechanisms would be nice to hear an explanation how this is implemented.

When you capture enemy ships, they appear at your nearest friendly port.

Nope, I'm France in this situation and I definitely did not build transports. Certainly not 5 Swedish transports to arrive in Oct 1805! I don't believe I can build Swedish transports at all, and certainly not a Swedish transport counter since none is available.
Here's a screenshot. Note Malmo still shows 5 Trn, 1805, Oct. I don't have any saves from the 1805 period when this started.

RE: Swedish transports bug?
According to what I can tell, you captured 5 transports in Sept 05, it must have been the Brits, as they are the only ones that have 5 Transports. (unless Prussia for some strange reason built 5 transports and immediately got them captured.) You captured them either in the Baltic or thereabouts, so the closest port got picked to be Malmo...
RE: Swedish transports bug?
OK, mystery solved(?). I did use my Swedish fleets to zap the British AI transports out in the North Sea in Sept 1805. Screenshot below. Why they were out there I don't know. The capture rules are working.
So I guess I did get notified of the capture event but didn't notice it. Question though, are these Swedish transports now or French, and could a French transport fleet counter pick them up? Maybe I'll try to find out if I can ever get up there.

Naval transports do not participate in any form of naval combat. If the stack of which they are a part, participates in combat, they are treated as not being present. The only exception to this is if all other light and heavy ships in their stack become either damaged or sunk, the naval transports (and any passengers) are captured. If the stack of which they are a part, retreats, the naval transports move with the stack.

They're FRENCH - I did the same thing with the Holland fleet; got the captured
transports in Amsterdam & came & got them later with the French transport fleet.

Understood.
Since transports are a new addition to the game, maybe this is a good time to ask if this is how this sort of thing should work. Seems to me that if Holland or Sweden or anyone without transport fleet counters captures transports that maybe a temporary transport fleet could be made available to them. Or give all naval powers a transport fleet counter, with or without the ability to actually build transports. Else captured transports sit uselessly in port month after month and you get nagging reminders every reinforcement phase that you have ships to place. [:@]

Pzgndr,
You can disable the naval build warnings in the Current Nation window. Just check off the box (see insert). No way yet to disable individual ports where builds are taking place (in case that was the next question). [:)]

RE: Swedish transports bug?
Aye Aye, thanks Richard!
I guess there's a lesson learned in here someplace about how best to capture enemy transports so you can then use them. Only major powers can have a transport fleet, so you have to find a way to get it to wherever the captured transports end up? OK.

It actually looks like built ships are free for pickup by any counter. (If you build a Swedish Heavy, the Dutch heavy fleet can pick it up.) but reinforcements (those available when setting up or received via getting a minor as a free state) are country specific, you HAVE to place them in the appropriate counters, or you lose them.

What I understand any country with a eligible fleet can pick them up if they control the area, this should also be true for newly built ships wich makes it very important to defend your building areas. At least I think that was true for the boardgame.
