Question on versions.

Do YOU have what it takes to run a country? Democracy starts with you in the role of President (or Prime Minister) of a modern country. Choose from twelve real countries, ranging from the United States to Australia. The object of the game is to stay in power as long as possible while pursuing policies that will turn your country into your definition of a utopia.

Question on versions.

Post by SaltySteed »

I previously purchased this game from the developer. It was version 1.5.

I bought it BEFORE October 2007.

When I reinstall it (ver 1.5) and hit the update button, dozens of files are downloaded from the developers site.

It still says version 1.5.

Hmmmm....

Somehow, this seems wrong. When a program is updated, isn't the version supposed to increase?

[X(] My point is that if Matrix is selling version 1.5, which 1.5 is it? The old one, new one, or yet a different one?
Does the Matrix offering still require the same updates that I am seeing applied to my ver 1.5?

I guess I am just skepticle of the version control system used by the developer, especially after reading some of the posts on this forum.

RE: Question on versions.

Salty,

The developer actually "reset" the version to 1.00 for the Trisynergy/Matrix release after updating the game. So I'm not sure exactly which version our version corresponds to. However, based on the post about the flickering/skipping with 1.5, I'm pretty sure it's more recent than 1.5 as I recall that issue in a pre-release version we had that was fixed/updated before release.

Regards,
