possible eqp bug

Post by Menschenfresser »

Not sure if this has been reported. I looked at the most recent threads here on the eqp problems and none of them pertain to this.

I opened Bill's On to Philadelphia which uses a modified .eqp file. Without having done a thing to that scenario, I opened a new game of Feldzug im Osten directly out of it. I noticed some odd numbers on the counters which prompted me to inspect the equipment. The units were using the eqp file for On to Philadelphia. I then opened Kursk 43. Same issue. I restarted TOAW and the modified eqp file seems to have been purged.

Sorry if this is already known.

You need to restart TOAW III, after using a modified eqp, if you are going to play another scenario that doesn't use the same eqp file.

What do you mean by this? That the program wasn't using the modded eqp file for the wrong scenarios (proper behavior) or that the eqp file flew off into the Bermuda Triangle and disappeared from your HD?

Reminds me of something pretty comic. I switched from one of my scenarios to another and started play-testing it...

What the hell? Everything's a 1-1 or a 1-2 -- except for this one random unit that's a 33-20. Hit the editor and look up the offending unit...

I realized I forgot to switch to the different modified equipment file. Where I was supposed to have had 'static support squad' or something innocuous the computer was reading 'Tiger II' or 'T-70' or something...

I have no knowledge of that eqp file.

Using the Bioeditor. Since there are only so many slots, for a given scenario one just rewrites slots that refer to equipment one isn't going to use in that scenario.
