I should of known better, but stupid me I though it would be different this time "laugh on me". Well after 2 days trying to get this to install on vista ( says on the box vista compatible!), then finally giving up and installing it on a totally different computer that runs Win XP pro. and like the system with vista on it EXCEEDS the maximum requirements.... IT WONT PLAY!!!! Oh yeah I can do a couple of missions and then CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!! @$##!!@##! I should have known this game would be full of bugs, but on I went, hoping beyond hope, Iwould get good game play: but wrong again! Between not being able to land a craft even on easier or standered mission, crashing , and yes the updates are installed but no closer to having some fun. Just so you know, next time I buy a game I will make sure it is not a MATRIX game. Ihope you enjoy the last of my money because it is the last time I throw good money after garbage and get a get MATRIX anthing[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
It isn't the game Sirdouglas, it's the quirks in the Vista Operating system or your video drivers. Starshatter is a pre Vista created game although it should be compatible.
Despite your "IT WONT PLAY" scream, you proceed to state doing a couple of missions. So obviously... it does play, but later crashes. Again... it's either a operating system problem or a driver problem. There is nothing wrong with the game.
Then you go on a tantrim against Matrix games et al. Seems a bit childish at best. But frustration can create such strong irrational emotions.
Are you using TrackIR and version 5.0.2?
I had problems using the 5.0.2 update with XP Home Edition. I now run version 5.0.1 and have no problems. I don't need to use TrackIR anyway. If you don't absolutely need TrackIR... run the game with version 5.0.1 and see what results you obtain.
I will admit though, you did throw good money after bad when you went with Vista. I intend to wait aanother year before upgrading to Vista. They should have any system bugs fixed by then.
If they don't, I may go with a "gulp" macintach. [X(]
