"Germanies fate": a modded WAW scenario

Post by freeboy »

See XBX info below regarding alot of modding he did, LOTS of changes for the industry, higher reserch costs and pp grants etc.
I few new el chepo crapy units for China.
And so it begins, a rainy Summer day and the PAnzers, followed by their moterized brothers storm Poland, it is Aug 1939. The soon to surrender Polkes raid Berlin causing minor damage .. as Goring responds, "a few scratched buildings".. but the reality of war has hit home!"

The french and English are not in agreement, and a New French Governmetn orders the MAg line evacuated as the Germans prove the Blitz styl warfare.

XbX as the german commander readies his troops..Warsaw falls turn two, the red Army takes possetion of the Baltic states and Eastern Poland.. the world watches and The commonwelth countries gear up for war..

Yeah i left those cards in since they are imho way too expensive, so i doubt they will get used by the allied player.

The no Vichy card would be a good investment, if there was a fleet to salvage out of playing it. Then, it would be a viable card to play in order to keep the fight going in the south of France, French N.A., etc. As it is now, since there is no fleet, and even if there was, all Western Forces are homogeneous, so it could be folded into a "British" fleet, it is a fairly expensive card to play, unless the West makes a major effort to contest every inch of France.

I actually think the no blitz card is a too inexpensivve as it removes the blitz entirely, taking away Denmark, Norway, giving them and the low countries to the west.. who knows maybe I used the card!
France is too strang vs historical.. and XBX mod gives a crapload of elchepo troops to China.. I plan on creating the huge poeples army and causing the JAps to mobilase alot of resources there !

Hmpf freeboy indeed used this card. At least the germans nontheless managed to kill quite a few frenchies. How much does the card cost?

Will be a slow crawl to paris though probably. The front at the end of my turn. I wonder why Freeboy completely abandoned the maginot line though, he could have delayed the germans there if he just would have placed a few spare infantry there i think.

Poor planning? I did not even know these cards existed, So I had already planed to pull way back and out.. so it looks like now, the 180pp no blitz card will hopefully stall you ot some months.. then the no vichy card ?[:D]

Time is more scarce than german manpower, so the germans attack Lille in May 1940 in a daring attack. First wave succeeded, but the losses were harsh.

Fortunately we built a mobilized army this time, so some germans even can continue pushing forward.
In several waves the fort guarding Paris is attacked and the final wave manages to take it and destroy lots of french flak.
Front at the end of my turn:

Overall it has been quite a bloodbath, the germans sacrificed many rifle units. Wonder if the french will try to counterattack.

Freeboy decided to not attack. Germans are not advancing too hastily this turn neither since the german armies are a bit exhausted, so no need to overstrain them.

Instead the germans only conquer enough room to assault paris next turn. This turn it would be too risky since there are lots of french forces in paris. Maybe if Freeboy retreats all remaing troops into paris they even hold out next turn too. But it doesn't matter too much imho, the italians joined and paris will fall this year also, so nothing to worry yet.

Freeboy decided to not attack. After the obligatory artillery bombarding the first wave of germans already almost succeeds in storming Paris. I begin to love those mortars [:)].

French front at the end of the german turn. We have cut off supply for the remnants of the french army. I am not sure if we can create Vichy next turn or if Freeboy bought the no vichy card. But the Axis have enough time now to slowly decimate the French.
