Number Graphics

Post by servo75 »

I've started making my own uniforms and they look pretty sweet in the game, but does anyone else notice that the numbers, even the ones that come with the game uniforms, look kinda... well, awful? The edges are sometimes jagged, the trim uneven, and it looks really low-resolution. Maybe it's my on-board graphics card. The resolution in the number files with the game is also only 100 pixels/inch which seems really low (even madden is 150). Would making the resolution of the file help any? I know this seems picky but I'm a stickler for detail.

The U7 and U9 textures are used for uniform numbers. The U7 texture is for the chest number; the U9 texture is for the sleeves number. If the U9 does not exist, the game will try and use a scaled U7.

Sizes:

U7 = 512x64
U9 = 256x32

One can increase the resolution by multiples, and it will still work. I have used 1024x128 chest numbers.

I do not know if the game scales the graphic files back before using them though.
