Modifying aircraft replacement rates

Post by Long Lance »

Is this possible or modable and how?

I wil never understand why this great game has a setting for ship replacement rate, but not aircraft replacement rate...

Anyway, thanks for your replies.

I believe this has been asked before and the answer is no.

Note that ships are not actually replaced. Reinforcements occur.
Minor upgrades to ships occur at PH and Tokyo also.
Some reinforcements are more likely to occur after ship losses, but that does not make them replacements in the same way that aircraft are replaced.

Sorry. Not played enough to know if this is or is not the case.
A little suprised if none ( but not totally ).

However, does anyone out there know of any?

Upgrades occurred to the following IJN Aircraft Carriers historically :-

Hosho : Number of AA guns increased during 42/43
Akagi : Sunk before upgrades available
Kaga : Sunk before upgrades available
Ryujo : Sunk before upgrades available
Soryu : Sunk before upgrades available
Hiryu : Sunk before upgrades available
Shokaku : Radar added early 42, No. of AA guns increased 6/42 &
7/43
Zuikaku : Radar added early 42, No. of AA guns increased 6/42 &
7/43
Shoho : Sunk before upgrades available ( should be as Zuiho )
Zuiho : Radar added, No. of AA guns increased during 43
Hiyo : Radar added late 42 & upgraded 43, and No. of AA guns
increased during early 43
Junyo : Radar added 7/42 & upgraded 43, and No. of AA guns
increased during mid 43
Ryuho : No. of AA guns increased during 43
Chitose : None
Chiyoda : None
Nisshin : No information ( t/a Chitose/Chiyoda )
Chuyo : No. of AA guns increased during 43
Unyo : No. of AA guns increased during 43

( Source : Osprey : IJN Aircraft Carriers 1921-1945 )

It also seems likely that most Capital ships had further AA guns added
during 42 & 43 (at least).

However, there is no guarantee that any of these have been
incorporated into UV!

Thanks DEB! As for the historical info, I was aware of some upgrades too. BB YAMATO even put two of their original four secondary turrets (3x155mm each, the turrets were formerly installed on the MOGAMI class cruiser) ashore in exchange for 6 twin 127mm AA mounts.
I rather doubt any of these refits are incorporated in UV... At least I never noticed something like that. Too bad!
