zoom

Post by willycube »

This may have been covered before so I apoligize if it has. I have just started reading the rules, tutorials etc. Will there be a zoom feature, does an area get bigger with a zoom meaning will there be more hexes when you zero in on say Oahu or Guadalcanal or does the hex count in that area stay the same but the scene is much larger and are there different levels of zoom if incorperated into the game? Thank You.

There are 8 levels of zoom with level 8 = 136 pixels wide by 152 pixels high. The other zoom levels are in eighths, so level 1 is 17 pixels by 19 pixels.

As you zoom out the pixels used become fewer and the image loses detail. But fundamentally nothing changes.

See the threads at the top of this forum's list of threads for links to screen shots of the map and the tutorials. They both give plenty of examples of different levels of zoom (though the actual zoom level is rarely stated).

8 screen shots centered over Berlin, showing the 8 levels of zoom would be very handy.

I should have done screenshots with units on the map, but I had no valid saved game and not time to make one. Someone will undoubtefully correct that with 8 other screenshots, with units this time [:D].

Thank you!

This is very useful.

When the game is being promoted I suggest screen shots at different zoom levels will help to sell the game
