Is Starvation Inevitable?

Post by ILCK »

Right now I'm about 6 months from Dec 43. I have the IJN on the run. The AI has three major bases left - Rabaul, Lae and Shortland- and they have the vast bulk of their land forces in those places. The thing is that over the months they are basically now out of transport craft and, when I popped in for a peek at the other side, I can see that they are rapidly running out of supplies. I suspect Lae and Shortland will be at zero supplies in a matter of weeks at most.

My question, based on this game, is this: is the AI so bad at defending it's transport assets that this is the outcome of any human vs AI game?

Hell, it's the fate of the Japanese to starve in many PBEMs too!  Once the Allied player builds up Lunga and PM the map is a target for his LBA, except for Truk.  How can you keep bases in supply without shipping?

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.
