Black Screen When I try to Play the Game

War In The Pacific Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 2

Just purchased the game and downloaded installed on my machine and tried to fire up the game, unfortunatly when I click on play after the File load up screen it turns to a black screen.

Symptoms

Task Manager shows programme as Not Responding
On Closing the folloing errors are displayed

war in the pacific.exe szAppVer : 1.8.0.0
szModName : hungapp szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

More in hope than expectation I have patched the game up to 1806revamped (As per posts on the forum)
Updated the Nvidia Graphics drivers


All other applications I run work ok including Carriers At War COD 4 Age Of Empires 3

Machine has plenty of prossesing Power and Memory

Any assistance would be great

Maybe it's the intro video... Rename the "Video" folder in your WitP directory into "NoVideo", and try again. Also, try starting the game using "War in the Pacific.exe".

Thanks for the information, changing the name of the video directory has got the game running

Then it's a codec issue. You can try to install a codec pack, or simply continue playing the game without videos - you won't miss anything except the intro.
