Airfield and Ports

In the manual TOAW III,I read:

'Airborne Resupply
If a unit cannot trace a Line of Communication back to a friendly
Supply Source, it may still be able to receive resupply. The level of resupply available to any particular hex is based on the amount of Air Transport Capacity left unused at the end of the previous Turn and the total size of the units in it requiring AirborneResupply. Local Airborne Resupply levels are reduced by 33% if visibility in the location is Hazy, or 50% if the visibility in the location is Overcast.'

Have airfields and ports any influence on logistics (supply)? [X(]

If an army unit is encircled, do we have a bonus if there is an airfield? (for example: Stalingrad)

No. Supply only comes from supply points, and according to the above from air transport.

About the only modification to Golden's statement would be that naval units will receive supply while at sea -- if there is a supply trace to an anchorage and that anchorage is on the body of water that they are on.

That means everything must be traced back to supply point, is it?

Actually, naval units are in supply no matter what. Even if their side has no supply points anywhere on the map.

I just tested this -- by Jove, you're right. Same doesn't apply to air units -- but interestingly, they will receive full supply if there's any supply trace at all to their air base.
