I got interested reading this forum in Advanced Tactics. So......I downloaded People's Tactics. I am having a blast playing this addictive game. How much difference is there between PT and AT?? Is there a lot???

Yes. It is still similiar to Pt, but it is like europa universalis 1 from paradox compared to europa universalis 2. Once you have AT you just can't go back to PT anymore.

Advantages of AT vs. PT:
- Extremely good editor
- Lots of UI improvements, AT is the first wargame where i really enjoy managing hundreds of units.
- Very flexible event system, can be combined with action cards. You can simulate a lot with clever use of events.
- Production overview window and an oob statistic menu. Those 2 are great. In PT it was very annoying to micromanage 10+ towns whereas here it is quite doable.
- More epic scale than PT, there are already maps out that are ~150x150 hexes and there might be soon maps with 300x300 hexes or even more.

Couple questions.

What does it mean when your commander has a number on his face like -4%

Why do my units, when 100% or more motorization, sometimes have 3 MP's and sometimes 6 MP's? Is it cuz they need to build readiness??

Long since I played PT yet but movement is modified for readiness, at least in AT. The % value I don't remember what it was.

Otherwise I agree with xBoroNx - AT is every bit as addictive as PT, yet deeper, more varied and more complex wo making it harder to play. Also the real fun part is pbem and mp games and I don't know how lively the PT community is nowadays.

PT was fun and promised much, AT is the funniest wargame I've played. Not the deepest, not the most realistic, but the funniest.

Even though Advanced Tactics is based on the same concept as Peoples General, it is Light Years beyond.

AT is the single most versatile, biggest hex based strategy game ever made.

Already, there are many scenarios available, from operational level Ardennes Offensive, to huge Axis and Allies, and World at War Grand Strategy scenarios.

There is even a Fantasy Tolkein type Lord Of The Rings scenario. The game engine is so versatile, check how the photographs in the screen shots are integrated into the game interface. Now imagine substituting fantasy characters or Tiger Tanks, etc, you can make any kind of set up with the scenario editor.

Seriously, if your computer has good enough specs, just buy the game. It is the single most enjoyable strategy game of the year, and of the coming year. Period.
