Being a computer noob, where do i save the patch download, under c/matrixgames/empiresinarms or in some other folder?

And how can i verify the game is running the new patch?

You can save it anywhere, just execute it (double click) after download

It will ask you the serial number, you can find it inside a file called serialreg.txt in the EiA directory.

When the game starts, you'll see the game version in the bottom right corner; be aware that due to a versioning number error you'll see 1.01B instead of 1.01

I create a folder in My Documents called PATCHES and save all my patches there. You could also put the folder on the desk top, I just like a neat, black and uncluttered desk top.
