a couple of ?'s

Post by sullafelix »

The best football game/sim that I ever played was " NFL Pro League Football" I believe it was circa 1995 or earlier. It was much more a sim with passable graphics than a gamepad game. Does anyone remember this game and how would it compare with MF? It had the rosters from 1960 or 65 to the year it was published. I know that on these forums nothing copyrighted can be linked too etc.. J've looked through the posts and didn't really see if anyone had ever made a league or list of teams that went back that far or farther.

I know I can edit the game all I want but with work, kids and grandkids it's not possible at the moment. I'm really thinking of purchasing this especially at the new price. Thanks for any input.

I have played NFL Pro League and most every other PC football game, and I will say MaxFB is the best.
My first was Super Sunday on the C64.

True, it does not have an NFL license, which it couldnt anyway since EA has a monopoly on that.
I think that there are some people working on NFL league files.....especially with the new editor
thats in development.

Im in the same boat as you, work/kids/etc, so I kinda sit around waiting for everyone else to hook me up :-)

If you enjoy football, I think you will have a lot of fun with the game. If you are looking only for playing NFL, then you might want to wait a bit and see if some league files come out.

I do think if it's still on sale for the $25.99 price, it's a great buy.

Yeah i remember it. had a hellacious time getting a boot disk going for it. but once in it was gaming nirvana for me. played every season from 60 on at least three times..

don't get it for your nfl fix. you will be dissapointed. I got it to create my own minor league and maybe to give the cfl a try.

I generally tell people to read the FAQ and look at the screen shots on this board.  It is best to have medium expectations and be pleasantly surprised rather than overly high expectations and then be disappointed.
