Flight Model

Post by MIGMaster »

action junky looking for some good historical air combat, this game will deliver.”

So when it says action junky - does that mean the flight model is more arcade than a flight sim ?

Thanks !

Its realistic. Although IMO due to the age of the game it doesn't quite have the sense of movement in a 3D space and speed that say IL2 does. IL2 you really feel like you are strapped into an old WWII plane whereas with BOB it tends to apply the same realistic rules but they seem slightly less naturalistic. If you stall in BOB its because you feel like the game has hit a certain mathematical parameter and that generates the stall in IL2 the stall feels naturalistic you can tell when the plane is going to stall by instinct. Buts its still well worth getting and after a while you accept the FM as normal anyway.

There is nothing arcadey about the flight model...as mentioned above, it's a dated engine, but it's a very good flight model
