Rnd 3 2 vs 2: Haudrauf/Boerwar vs Polonthi/Tica

Post by BoerWar »

Japan - Sum '39: If this bombing raid is a sign of things to come it could be a long game.

I sent an email from the forum to Polonthi and need a response with your email address so I can send you the file. Forum email system can't handle file attachments.

Nice guys that we are, the Axis team will do our best to see to it that there is no WW III so you don't have to get beaten again. [:D] Any assistance you can provide toward that would be greatly appreciated.

Somehow I was expecting this kind of reply [;)] but that Russia could be beaten by any foe is unthinkable [X(] of course [:D]

Summer 1939:

Russia:

Nothing much to do but noticing Germany massing it's army against France. At least the losses against Poland are higher as a result.

W.Allies Summer 1939
The Allied High Command notices the German buildup as well and responds with a strong BEF in France. Sadly I lost the screenshot but maybe the Axis will post it next turn.

Otherwise all is quiet. The uboats have yet to sally forth, so the Allies don't have much else to do.

Japan - Sum '39: We did a quick restart to get us all on V1.02. Same attacks were conducted for Japan. Only real difference is my bomber didn't die. Yet.

Turn sent to Polonthi.

Summer 1939:

Russia:

Nothing much to do but protect Eastern Poland and the Baltic States from Capitalism Imperialism aggression with the blessing of our German brother.

China:

Japanese fighters are not yet at speed 3 so the Chinese fighter is evacuated to a more peacefull place [;)]

W.Allies Summer 39
The same basic Axis moves provoke the same Allied response. This time I remembered to save the SS, though. The French and British load up the Maginot line and threaten a devastating counterattack to any sally into the Low Countries. Well, for the short term, anyway

Japan - Fall '39: The Emperor surveys his holdings and finds them somehow lacking. Something must and will be done. Just not this turn. 2 Chinese railroads bombed.

Turn sent to Polonthi.

Fall 1939:

Russia & China:

Nothing much to do... yet.

We notice that the Blitz is not yet a sure thing. More German fighters build but one HVY Bomber down over Scotland.

China factories are still working... part time [:(]

W.Allies Fall 39

The W. Allies put more troops into France, mainly to keep the Germans honest. We notice that the Nazis are also stealing a lot of aircraft tech from the Japanese. Might bode ill for the defense of the UK a little further down the line. Some caution is warranted.

Winter 1940:

Russia & China:

Still mainly looking at a World at War without doing much but repairing some minor damage to a Chinese factory.

France should fall next turn.

W.Allies Winter 1940

The W.Allies abandon France to her fate, taking consolation in at least gaining the 5 research points and a turn's delay. The Germans look like they may be pushing for Sealion. Lots of stolen air tech from Japan, plus a lot of aircraft in play already. England looks to her defenses and hopes that Mussolini sees the light and stays out for another turn.

W.Allies Spring 1940

Mussolini refuses to join the Axis, at least for a turn, buying us a little breathing room. The Germans are building an impressive anti-UK force, though, including two CAGs. (See screenshot). Both Axis powers are stealing a lot of tech, too, which will result in a strong Sealion-capable force soon. The British dig in and prepare for the onslaught.

Summer 1940:

Russia:

Italy seems to have changed their mind and enter the game. First naval battle won by England but barely (see attachment) and next turn will be hard as the skies are dominated by the Luftwaffe and the Regia Aeronautica.

Germany is also at striking distance of the UK for Sea Lion and next turn is the last clear weather turn of this year to launch an invasion which means if not attempted in Fall 1940 then Germany will have to choose between England or Russia invasion in Spring 1941.

And the Stavka is convince that Germany plans an invasion of Yugoslavia next turn. So much for the free resources we were getting from them [:(]

China:

Factory repaired... again. One Japanese CAG down, hope it was an experienced one [:'(]

For the rest nothing much to report.

W.Allies Summer 40

Yes, the RN pulls out a win in the Med. I didn't realize that German HBs from the Reich could reach the Central Med, which changed the odds somewhat. We retreat in the face of heavy airpower, losing an LF in the process to opfire. But I don't think the Germans can push towards Cairo or London without seriously delaying Barbarossa, and surely that's England's primary mission early on.
