K-Lite Codec Pack causing conflicts

Post by niceguy2005 »

I recently tried installing the K-Lite Codec Pack on my computer, which gives me the capability to play flash video on several standard media players. However, I have verified that this codec pack is causing WitP to hang during the credits. The initial load screen plays fine but then it hangs on the following screen.

Is there any information available on what video formats the credits are in? Has anyone reported this issue before?

Various codecs cause WITP problems... you can sometimes fix them by upgrading sound/video drivers... sometimes not.

I DL'd a codec package, and the damn thing had 43 spyware attachments.
One for each codec.
Even though the DL stated it was free of any spyware.

Scan your computer, just to be sure.[;)]

Will do. I try to be pretty careful with codecs as they are known to often be delivery systems for viruses and other malicious spy ware. K-Lite (I think) is pretty well known and accepted.

I have since years the latest versions of the K Lite Mega Pack installed, and never had any problems with WitP.

EDIT: I should mention that Sound and Video subdirectories of WitP are disabled / renamed.
