Graphic problem

Having some trouble with my graphics in that a white hex keeps appearing where it is supposed to be space. Its okay if I scroll the page over and then back but its just annoying and looks unprofessional.

Have have changed the location type sprites etc and tried different combinations but am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Couldnt you just make the background of the planet and the spacestation hex graphic black (0,0,0)?
