No facemask is a plain pink sguare. The color code is 255 (red),0 (green),255 (blue). Those pants are outstanding! Great reproduction of the waist section and string tie. Please post that template on FBMAX. I'd like to use that. The jersey stripping is nice also. The one "problem" there is that the numbers will be overlaid on the design. The U-7 number BMP works for both front and back and I don't know of any way to disable it for one side. That jersey should still look great.

OK, that waist section with the tie string on the pants is actually on the bottom of the U-2 jersey BMP isn't it? Wherever that tie string section is located, I want to use that.

One other comment about that outstanding uniform, is that the base brown helmet and the brownish pants are more late 1920's to mid 1930's era. By the late 1930's, teams were using team colors on their helmets and pants. The leather helmets were panted with a heavy oil based paint that was very durable. The paint acted as preservative and as a water proofing agent. It also made the helmet a little more rigid.

The movie "Leatherheads" is due to be released next month. The previews show them wearing the base brown helmet. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I imagine some uniforms ideas for MaxFB will come out it.

Ok
a few more question

I have a problem with the no mask file
I put a pink block in the folder for the masks then it wont load the players at all.
I made a folder that says new Folder and its just pink squares. They come up black.

I went to the edit player part and said NO MASk. it shows no mask then but when i go back to check on him
He has a white shield in front of his face.

next how do i remove the names from the jerseys. I don't want them to show up in the game for 1920-30's

Thanks

Set the name color the same as the jersey color.  The names will be there, but no one will see them.

No, it's your game, you make your football world however you want it to be. If you want it to be 1940, then it's 1940.

Your uniform has inspired me to convert my 1940 NFL uniforms to reflect more like what you have created so I can setup a pro league circa 1932, 33, somehwere in there.

I think what maybe happening with your facemasks is:
1) You assign the facemask color for each team to whatever facemask color folder in which you have the blank pink BMP's. The screenshot below shows that I have one facemask folder in my MaxFB game folder. Just so happens I chose to use the "aqua" color folder.

2)The pictures below the black line show the contents of the "aqua" folder. You still have to assign each player a facemask in the player editor section of the game. If all the BMP's in the folder are blank pink then there should be no facemasks. One other thing, if you have player detail set to high, the game will assign a dark facemask to each player regardless of how you assign the facemask. Set your player detail to medium/normal. Definitely don't set player detail to low.

Hope this helps,
Old Coach

All those pink boxes are the blank facemasks. Look in your facemask folders and you should see that facemask 99 is blank pink which would be a facemask-less player. I opened "99" in paint shop pro 4 and then did save as in my aqua folder for each of the other facemask boxes.

example: I saved "99" as "01" and then I saved it as "02" and then saved it as "03" until I got to the last one # "13".

1927 Flint Michigan:
The new American Football Federation played its first exabition game. The new league is try'n to start up this April with four teams. The league will be playing American Football as the National Football League started a few years ago.
The AFF has stated that they are not trying to compete with the new NFL. The league will be something for the people in the north. So they can learn the game of football. The AFF was to have siz teams but the new league found that some people did not belive in the new game. We found it hard to secure owners that belived in us and the game of football. We try's to give them the opertunity to be in at the begining. We belive this game will survive.

Here is a new paer cliping from the AFF first practice/exebition game

Image

An artist at the game did a colorized version with water colors. one day we will be able to take pictures in color I just now it .

Good crowd for an exhibition game between 2 unknown teams at night in the rain.

How did you get the first picture in B&W?

Please tell me how you did the string ties on your pants.

I still have one of the teams with a black name showing up. But I loaded a name file in every folder. Home and Away

They all match the jerseys in that folder.

No problem with it at all. Glad you're using it and glad it helped. Sharing ideas, plays, art, etc is what this forum is all about. That's part of the fun of being part of the MaxFB Nation.

One thing that adds authenticity to your uniforms in the screenshot is the lack of uniform numbers. Most teams didn't have uniform numbers until 1929, 30, somewhere in there.

I am going to download that pants template and use it a bunch.

Thanks,
Old Coach
