Fumble stat
I am still seeing the fumble stat bug in 2.2. This was a league game, ver. 2.2, cpu vs. cpu, stat showed 1 fumble 2 flst.

RE: Fumble stat
Hi.
The testers and I spent quite a lot of time on this particular issue and we have never been able to make it happen since I added the fix.
Did you reset your league before playing the 2.2 league game?
I'm assuming this is a 3D game, not a simulated game?
Please send me the game log and debug file for that game.
thanks
David

RE: Fumble stat
Very strange.
Here is a snippet from a gamelog. Fumbles show properly.
Wonder what the issue is? Was your league created before the update? Mine was made on a test build, wonder if a pre 2.2 file would cause that?

Could you post the league file?
Or send it to
gary_l_sorrell@yahoo.com
Would like to see if its the league file or the install.

RE: Fumble stat
I havent got it yet, but was wondering...did you reset the league prior to running games?
RE: Fumble stat
Uh, nope. I created the league before 2.2 but did not actually start a season ( draft, training camp, etc.) so I didn't think I needed to reset the league. Should I have?

RE: Fumble stat
Yes.....David changed the structure of the league file a bit to track the new stats.
But, you now have the option to reset and NOT lose any of your players.
I reset your league and ran thru 3 weeks, there were no instances where there were more lost than fumbled...so a reset may be the issue.

Okay. My mistake. Sorry for the confusion.
RE: Fumble stat
I just started a new league and had exactly the same fumble stat error.
Player on Philly fumbled once and lost two.
Tampa player fumble twice and lost four.
The league was reset and new players were generated and drafted.

RE: Fumble stat
Could you provide the gamelogs ? I have simmed throught several weeks of the USMFL and have not seen that problem. There must be something special.

I'm afraid looking at the stat recap after a game is not enough to prove the fumble error does not exist. In the game I mention my team recap is also fine but if you check individual stats in the LEAGUE STAT SCREEN it shows what I mean.
I wonder if those finding no error are playing a quick game(not meaning a sim game).
I also uncovered more of a problem with the fumbles. Or maybe with SACKs in general. Two of my fumbles were by QB's when the were sacked. The sacks were never
recorded to the QB record and even worse the yards lost were deducted from his passing yardage.
I believe the yards lost on sacks thing was dicussed before but I'm not sure who won the debate but the official policy in the NFL is that sack yds are kept totally separate. In college the yardage is deducted from the players RUSHING yards.
Also from the official scoring rules.
So this fumble thing is a pain in the neck to those of us who enjoy accurate stats. Wish something could be done.

Well, a few things.
While I do agree that if this is happening, that is VERY annoying. But, in the grand scheme of things, it's minor detail. I'm sure David will figure it out and fix it. However, it's one thing that you can "easily" fix. How you ask, let me tell you. There are various ways.
The first way is to edit the stats manually. In the "Stats_Players" table in a league file, find the rushing stats group (I believe stats group 3 or 4). Find the player ID you're wanting to change, and edit the appropriate stats. Granted, this is time consuming, but if it means that much to you, it is a least possible.
The second way is to wait until somebody makes it possible to edit stats with an editor of some kind (probably me [8|] ). But, my guess is that anyone who is currenly working on an editor (me) is probably in the middle of a huge overhaul (he is) and isn't really sure when the next update for his editor will be (not until mid-April at the earliest). But hey, that's like light speed compared to David's updates! (Sorry David, had to throw that in there [;)] ).
The third way is to wait until the stats get fixed by David himself.
Just rest assured that it IS possible to edit the stats, though. Not sure if this posts helps you at all [:)] .

I have simmed a complete regular season of the USMFL and here is the screenshot. The fumble bug has here not occured. I have checked between several weeks, too but can not reproduce it.

I assume this was in 2.2.
Was this using the sim game or the live game?

The NFL does remove sack yardage from the team passing stats, but not from the quarterback stats.
In the NCAA, sack yardage is treated as negative rushing yardage and attempts in the quarterback's and team's statistics.
Sack yardage is not applied to the quarterback's stats in the CFL either.

I did check individual stats in the League stats screen, also checked gamelogs.....no issues in a reset USMFL or a 2.2 created league of mine. I also got hubbards league file, reset it, and simmed several weeks and all fumble stats seemed to list properly...always more fumbles than fumbles lost.
