No Wide Screen Default/No Videos

Post by OldSaltAirBoss »

Version 3.9 apparently does not directly support Widescreen 1440 x 900 format. As I recall, Version 3.8 did. Will this format be added as it is popular for LCDs? I have the max height/width selected for now.

Videos not playing on Version 3.9 since I upgraded. Is this a known bug? I have defaults on: video, video persist, all video categories selected on Options screen. I specifically bought Harpoon 3 for this feature since it helps me keep track of events (aircraft launchings, weapons firing, hits) rather than relying on beeps and scrolling text.

Appreciate any help on this.

You can set the screen resolution (for window mode) to any size, at the very bottom of yor harpoon.ini file. Not all resolutions are supported through the graphical launch program. For 1440x900 use 1400 width and 870 height and it should just about cover the entire screen.

I have no issues with the videos; are you using XP or Vista? you may need to set the default video player on your system to the WMP but that is just a guess and I may be totally wrong.

Howdy Boss,

I just checked it here on my lap top and I can set the resolution to use 1428 X 836 in windowed mode. This fills the entire screen. Using the H3 Configuration Launcher in the Extras folder with windowed mode you can use the sliders in the top left corner of the 'Video and Sound options' tab to select any custom resolution. This changes the same options in the harpoon.ini file but limits it to a logical step below the screen maximum so you can control the entire window.
