I just recently bought te Matrix version of the Campaign Series, and being an old die hard fan of the orginal Talsonsoft product, (i had them all...BTW...where is Divided Ground?),

Sorry, hit wrong key...sheesh...ayway...as I was saying...I am having certain problems with DCG's;  to wit...on West front, (I play Battalion level tank), as the Germans, I never have my HQ appear on the map....nor does it ever appear as reinforcements, so my panzer battion is always short on ammo. Yet at the same time...it is always listed in my Command OOB.  For the Big Red One DCG, I play as German, or should I say, I attemt to play as German.  In the Talonsoft version, I could play as battalion level commander for that campaign, in the Matrx version, it will not accept anything less than Divisional Level, as I keep getting messages saying there are no lower organizations available....try again.  Hmmm...not good.  I like to start at battalion level and work my way up with promotions and medals.....just a persoanl quirk and I like to feel I earned my rank.....so to speak.  I havent tried many other campaigns as yet s I only purchased the game 3 days ago, however, I am thinking there are going to be more issues I notice.
 
For East Front; No matter which campain i choose as the Germans...I am limited to only 4 formations to pick from...all Whermacht.  24th Panzer korp, the 47th Panzer Korp, one other PZ Kor, (I cant rremember), and the 12th Infantrie Korp w/12th Panzer.  ok....What the hell happened to the SS formations?  This applies to all 3 Barbarossa campaigns...Budapest to Vienna Campaign, ans Storm against the Reich, (i think thats the title), anyway...we all know SS units fought in Russia...so why oes not the game recognize this and allow me to play as an SS panzer Commander?  In the orginal Talonsoft Version of EF2 Gold...i could play as SS...so I am not understanding what is the problem.
 
The LCG game from the Talonsoft version of EF2 Gold, Cricible of Death, is not on the matrix version, instead...i see a senario entitled Crucible....so is this the old campaign or just a 1 batte senario?
 
When playing as the Russians, I experiecne multiple unit fire repeatedly.   For example, I fire at a unit and inflict damage...then they respond with OP fire...however, the game seems to hang on this...all unit elligible for OP fire continusly do so...i was able to see where the fire comes from....I was playimng New Roman Legions as the russians, and the Cav i was firing at fired back....next thing I know all hell broke loose as my system kept cycling thru units and they kept firing at me....I got up went to the bathroom.....came back and they were still at it.  the fire was coming from off map!!!!!!i have unstalled and reinstalled the game 2 times....and I have the 1.02 patch installed...it still does the same thing.  Not a good thing.
 
Rising Sun:  I have only played a couple of battles here, but everything seems to be in order.  Although, I ay not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but I seem to remember a LCG for Guadalcanal in the Talonsoft version which is not on the Matrix version.  But I need tocheck that out in more detail.   As I said I am not sure about that.
 
Now I would like to shift gears...I have tried to point out the flaws in the game so far and would now like to sing its praises.  I have played this game for many years...i love the concept and and am happy Matrix brought it back from oblivion.  (Now if they can only get Rowans Battle of Britian published......sigh!)  Personally, being an armchair general, i love to relax playing this game....and yes for me this is relaxation!  Death, Destuction, Mayhem.....ok...while they have their respective charms, nothibng beats a good old fashioned strategy game!  (The death, destruction, and mayhem are just bonuses!)...what I would like to do now is bounce an idea off anyone who cares to listen....as to the future of the Campaign Series.
 
Lets say....Matirx decides to improve the game...what would be the ultimate game?  For me...a total Dynamic campaign game!...For example;  Say you just bought the game...installed it...and ready for some combat....now what?  Ok....pick you nationality of choice,,,,say for example...German...open the screen...then you have a choice....pick tank, infantry, or parachutte, or whatever else is available....then proceed thru the entire war starting from battalion level to whatever....personally I think that would be awsome...if i were to choose a german commander as a taker...then start in poland  and go thru every campaign from ww2, offer the players a chance to change divisions...if you dont like the 7 th panzer...if you get promoted...offer them a change of divisions, let the gamer pick....if i want to go to the Panzer Lehr division upon prmotion....then let me have that option...if i choose not to stay on the east front as part of the 1rst SS panzer...then let me transfer to another SS division in another theatre of war.  I hope you see where I am going with this...i am believeing that the game can remain intact yet have this as an add on....and this can be dont for all nationalities.....for America...you get west front...or pacific....marines, infantry, or tanks.  The possibilities are virtuaklly unlimitless!  No campaign will ever play the same way twice...because it is a dynamic gameevents and battles will change.   Of course, this means they will have develop a program to allow for island hopping in the pacific..  But you get the idea.
 
Anyway...I hope i get some positive feedback....have a good one people!

Regarding the Dynamic Campaigns, my understanding is the soon-to-be released patch 1.03 will address many of the Dynamic Campaing issues.

Borst50, did you also install the unofficial 1.02b patch? I believe that stopped the continuous firing?! DCG's are being improved, the oob's were a mess, and now they work nicely, with many options!! (1.03)

i actually didnt knw there was a 1.02b patch until now....as I assumed the download option on the initial game screen would get me the latest patch

Thanks Warhorse, patch installed and seems to work...now for some extensive playtesting.....mu-hahahahahah....gotta love that death destruction and mayhem!!!!

re is Birdsboro? I am from State College orginally...but never hear of Birdsboro...now in Montana....sheesh...go figure

How do you like Montana? We debated moving there about 10 years ago! Birdsboro is right outside of Reading, on Rt. 724, we actually live in Seyfert, an even smaller burg before you get to Birdsboro, but the Post Office is in Birdsboro! State College is quite a drive from where I live. Enjoy the game, my man, glad to have helped!!

lol...Montana is a lot nicer that Texas...where Iwas unhappily married....but now am divorced and living here...unfortunately, my ex is atill alive....somewhere....Glendive is a very small village, and in fact I have a home here...this village has finally found it's idiot!

Reading I know....was born in Harrisburg...then moved to State College when I was 4....lol....God that was a long time ago....how did I ever live to be this old? Benn in Montana for 4 years now and love it here....ok....the winters get a bit cold, especially when we get hit with an Alberta Clipper....temps will drop to 30 or 40 below....thank God we havent had many of them in the last 4 years!!! Summers are ok....actually gets over a 100 degrees here in July.
