Is there anyway to change the look of the icons for units on the 2d board. Not talking about what comes with game, but using icons that would be used on gameboards? Sorry for so many questions. My biggest issue with the game is the size of 2d. Icons could be a little larger and that would help alot. Getting older you know. Can't see as well as I used too. Even the 640 x 480 could be bigger.

There isn't a mod available that I know of that does that. Hopefully someone will spend some time and do so. It is a lot of work though, so I wouldn't expect it too soon.

There is always the 3D mode (zoom level 1); used in conjunction with the Unit List menu (accessed by pressing U on the keyboard), you should have all the information you could require. Adding the thermometer (T on the keyboard) and unit bases(button beside to the magnifying glass on the tool bar) also helps see the units.
