Is it possible to give base's an AA rating..

Which would add up all the AA guns from the eng units e.c.t.

Just like happens with the ships?

No. Such a rating could potentially change many times over a very short period, and what would be the point?

AAA rating can change if I move in a couple of AAA LCUs though.

Bases in themselves have no AAA. To get AAA at a base, you need an LCU there to provide the guns and the men to man them.

Yeah but that's what i'm saying!! Can't you add all the AA gun for an engineering unit, then give them a value (like ships) then add up all the eng units to give the base an aa value?

Too be honest I really don't understand what you saying!!!

If an engineering unit moves out of the base then the AA value will decrease if not then it will stay obviously!!

Of course the rating will change every turn possibly (depending on ships arriving/departing, land units moving/repairing/etc). The point is it would be useful to see a figure listed on the base screen (along with the figures for number of troops, number of support personnel, etc) saying the total AA value for this base as it stands this turn. Make sense??

When you send a recon plane over a base it will give you information on how many troops, guns and vehicles are at that base. That gives you a decent idea of AAA strength.

Considering that it appears that AE will be removing the visible Air Balance numbers we see on the mouse over, it seems to me that adding an AAA balance number would be a move in the wrong direction (i.e., reducing the FOW).

Not sure about heenanc - but i'm NOT asking for an AA rating for enemy bases, but for my bases. I KNOW i can manually add it all up and figure out the AA, but that is the point of having a computer - saves me doing the math. We get a total for TFs, why not for bases.

No big deal really. Just a suggestion.

No problem flying tiger, I think your idea is a good one.[:)]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

FT... that's a horse of a different colour. I'm sorry that I misinterpreted, but it's good that you've cleared up the fuzzyness, as your request sounds so much more sensible put that way! [;)]

I too find it a good idea. If someone says it isn´t needed for bases, why should it be needed for TFs then? And it´s surely not that hard to implement. Every AA gun has probably an AA value, so just sum it up and display it... oh, well I know it´s not that easy, but surely not that hard either. And it´s a good idea.
