RHS 7.7971 minor update uploaded

Post by el cid again »

I will issue a "final" update - after a call for eratta - but it is done.

This revises ASW weapons with a view toward making it harder to sink submarines,

it revises eight or nine Allied aircraft or air group data to help them appear with the right equipment

it corrects three ship eratta and

a few LCUs get better planning or similar field adjustments

All this work is done - but I will wait for this thread to post any identified eratta or other problem which a player would like to
see reviewed.

This is a minor update - as a courtesy - but we will fold in anything we know about that makes the file sets better.

This version will feature a minor difference between EEO and its EBO variant - and the rest of EOS family - and the rest of RHS.

Joe and I studied Japanese airborne. It is binary organization - mainly. The Raiding Brigade is two Raiding Regiments -
each a very light airborne battalion. The Glider Regiment is more or less the same thing as a Raiding Regiment - but with somwehat
heavier weapons. In EEO and EBO we now will have a Glider Brigade instead of a single regiment - and being binary it is cool that
code lets you split a Brigade into two parts. These formations are not very like Allied airborne brigades or divisions - and indeed are based on German ideas - but they are much lighter - and intended mainly for raids rather than assaults. But a slightly heavier unit - the Glider units have 47 mm ATG and 75 mm mountain guns instead of 37 mm and 70 mm short gun/howitzers - is not a bad idea. The airborne also carry a few 81 mm mortars (4 per battalion instead of the usual 12).

I must go to work - I waited a day - and got no more comments - so I have uploaded this set as they are.

This set will be used to update the installer - and I intend to collect issues rather than update further - pending some longer test results.

In general things are working well - and I am not yet restarting any of the human test games. This is a courtesy update for new game starts - nothing critical.
