"unexpected error; quitting", persists

I just purchased Puresim 2007 today and have the popup problem "unexpected error; quitting", when trying to start the application. I am running Windows Vista, but have DL'd v.1.70 of the game and the 1.71 update (as i saw that fixed someone elses Vista issue), but the problem persists. I have updated my my div x to make sure that isnt the issue either.

Please Help!
